The aim of **Encyclopedia Magnetica** is to create and provide encyclopaedic articles on topics related to magnetism and electromagnetism.

The articles are written by knowledgeable authors, with clearly given sources. Therefore all information given in Encyclopedia Magnetica are more trustworthy than in Wikipedia. The project was founded by Dr Stan Zurek, who is the main editor.

 The website was originally run on MediaWiki, but the maintenance was too troublesome and it was decided to move to DokuWiki, which is much simpler to use.
